Today’s episode: Sphinx Bazel’s Goodbye to Amarah
One day Amarah was down at the beach in the highlands while DJ Flip was busy working. Amarah loved sitting by the water on the sand. Every once and a while, she would find a pearl or two. Amarah was on vacation from singing and working in the recording studio. Just when she thought she was alone in her own world, she felt someone tall standing over her behind her. When she looked behind her, it was a tall muscular man with dreadlocks and an Egyptian beard.
Amarah: Oh my gosh! Bazel, what are you doing here?
It was Sphinx Bazel. He sat down on the white beautiful sand beside Amarah by the turquoise water.
Bazel: What’s the matter? You not happy to see me?
Amarah: I’m not suppose to see you at all in any way shape, form, or fashion. I’ll never hear the end of it from Flip.
Bazel: So what you suppose to do? Close your eyes every time you see me? You can’t help it if I’m here on the beach. So where is he anyway?
Amarah told Bazel a little fib.
Amarah: He’s not here at the moment but he’ll be here soon.
Bazel: Are you really going to marry him.
Amarah: Yes, Bazel! I’m going to marry him.
Bazel picked up a stick & began to sadly draw shapes & figures in the sand. Amarah had a seductive look beneath her eyelids. She began starring at Bazel. Amarah still had some feelings for him because she had been with him before. She knew his bad and good ways, and she also knew that he was sad at that moment. Bazel caught Amarah starring at him. Then Amarah looked away.
Amarah: So where is the one that you love, and what are you doing here?
Bazel began to stare at Amarah & there eyes met.
Bazel: You’ve got beautiful eyes Amarah.
Amarah was about to say something, but her and Bazel both heard a lady screaming.
Lady: Shark! Help!
A huge shark was after the lady dragging her into the water. Bazel raced to get to the shark to help the lady. Bazel had great strength. He jumped into the water. The lady’s leg was in the jaws of the shark. Bazel wrestled the shark and broke the jaws of the shark and Amarah stood in awe. When the fight with the shark was over, the lady hugged and thanked Bazel in the ambulance.
Sphinx Bazel was known and seen by everyone on the beach. They knew he was the heavyweight champion who had been boxing Domino Storm. Sphinx Bazel was not only a champion but a hero that day. People took pictures of him and the shark and nicknamed Bazel “Samson."
Bazel took the shark out of the water and threw him on the back of his truck to carry him home to stew him. Sphinx Bazel saw Amarah walking away to leave the beach. He called to her.
Bazel: Amarah! Where are you going? Wait!
Amarah didn’t want to be known or seen with Sphinx Bazel. He caught up with her.
Bazel: Amarah, stay a little while. This will probably be my last time seeing you.
Amarah was afraid to trust Bazel because of his eyes. He always looked under eyed and sneaky as if he was up to no good, But it was not always his intentions.
Amarah: Goodbye, Bazel. I’m not supposed to be seen with you.
Bazel: If you ever need me, call me. You know where to find me. I know I messed up and mistreated you sometimes. And you don’t have to worry. I won’t try to stand in your way and mess things up for you. I know you’ll be married soon.
Amarah took a deep breath. Amarah: Did you ever apologize to Flip?
Bazel: I tried. Saying I’m sorry is not good enough. He only interviewed me for the fight on account of Domino. He wouldn’t let me near him. I don’t blame him though. What I did was terrible. I couldn’t stand to see Flip with you. I don’t want to hurt nobody. I never knew what goodness was or how to receive it.Now the best thing I had is gone. You were my best friend. I know I have to keep my distance.
Amarah: Yea, I’m getting married, and you’ve got to move on with that special girl you’ve got now. Maybe I’ll meet her one day.
Bazel: She’s a big fan. She likes hearing you sing. Her name is Katrina. She didn’t come with me to America. Maybe next time.
Amarah said goodbye again to Bazel. She wouldn’t look back at him because she knew he was hurting. He stood starring at her until she was all the way out of his sight. Bazel was getting what he thought was a last look at her Amarah.
