Season 12 - Episode 39: Psychosomatics of Depression | EVETTE ROSE
🎇Mental health conditions such as depression are often thought to be purely psychological issues, but recent research has suggested that the mental and physical can interact in a very real way. It is now understood that psychological and emotional states can have an impact on a person’s physical health, with depression being no exception. Studies have linked symptoms of depression to heightened levels of certain hormones, neurotransmitters, and inflammatory markers in the body. In order to address these psychosomatic factors in treating depression, it is important to take steps towards improving emotional well-being through lifestyle changes and psychotherapy.
