Cut To The Race: FormulaNerds F1 Podcast
News:Sports News
On this week's Cut to the Race podcast, Oli hosts the race review of the Canadian Grand Prix with the help of Abby and Sam as they talk about all on-track action and complete another FormulaNerds Quiz...Montreal style.
The Canadian Grand Prix weekend had a rocky start with a shortened FP1 session, leaving lots to dissect from the extended FP2 session as well as FP3. The weather mixed up the conditions for the first two days of on track action, providing an exciting qualifying. The trio discuss qualifying and the performance of those who ended up out of position and penalised, including Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez who were both out of Q2.
Moving onto the race, the panel share their ratings of the National Anthem, which provides some mixed reviews before diving into the Canadian Grand Prix that saw Red Bull achieve their 100th win. The trio discuss the battles between Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, Ferrari vs Red Bull, and Ferrari's strategy, which didn't prove to be as bad as some were thinking. They also touch on the drama surrounding pitstop releases and Lando Norris as well as the uncharacteristic retirement of George Russell.
Formula One heads to Austria in a couple of weekends time for the 10th round of the season but will it be Max Verstappen winning the race? Keep listening to find out!
