How to Undo the Belief that Fuels Emotional Triggers
Join Janine in this episode as she explores a couple of powerful and liberating lessons from Love Itself. She begins by sharing a story about a recent emotional trigger and how the belief that she could be attacked created a great deal of unnecessary turmoil and essentially created her own suffering. Using this example she shares how we project our self-judgment (self-attack) and guilt onto the world and thus create the experiences we have within the world. A dialogue with Love Itself illuminates even more clearly how all forms of upset (idols) are fueled by the ego's desire to distract us from our Truth and keep us feeling separate and powerless and vulnerable. Love reminds us that we are guiltless and can stop projecting our guilt and self-attack onto the world. Instead of focusing on the upset (emotional trigger), we can remember, "I am one with my source (God, my Father) and together all will be made well." Love's reminder is that the more we focus on the problem/idol, we buy into the belief that we are alone and must fix the problem alone and are guilty if we cannot. This way the ego gets to keep 'blowing smoke' thereby letting the problem/idol have power over us and keeping us focused on our own shortcomings. We are called to take the focus off these ego distractions by forgiving the world and ourselves for our perceived guilt so that we can return to our natural state of pure love and peace.
