Comedian Shabana Rehman Gaarder was raised Muslim and now calls herself a freethinker. She has been featured in Time magazine and the New York Times. Her humor is described as shocking, but always has wit and purpose—most famously when she lifted a militant Islamic leader off the ground during a public debate, infuriating (and emasculating) him. (His complaint to the police went nowhere.) Brilliant, biting, and hilarious, Shabana joined us to talk about who she is and why she does what she does.
