EP26: From Afghanistan to California - Journalist Nushin Arbabzadah
Nushin grew up in Afghanistan during the Soviet War. She went on to earn graduate degrees from the University of Hamburg in Germany and the University of Cambridge. She has worked for the BBC, Al Jazeera, and The Guardian, and now teaches at UCLA. She is also the author of several books, most recently, βAfghan Rumor Bazaar: Secret Sub-cultures, Hidden Worlds and the Everyday Life of the Absurd.β We talk to her about her amazing journey, her views on Islam and reform, her interest in inter-cultural communication, and her hopes for a more reasoned, open future for all of us.
