Draft Day Primer

It’s draft day in Nashville and there is a lot going on around the NHL. We had a handful of big trades yesterday and there are still a bunch of big rumors flying around.

To kick off today’s podcast, Jason and Frank talked about where Matvei Michkov could wind up. As we draw closer to the draft, there are rumblings that he could go as high as second overall. Frank gave some insight into that and Gregor talked about why Michkov should be a top-five pick.

Frank had some new names on his trade targets board and shared those on the pod. That led to some talk about the news we did get yesterday like the Toffoli trade out of Calgary.

They also broke down the Alex Newhook trade. The guys were kind of on opposite sides when it comes to who won this deal. Frank also pointed out an interesting connection that could be the reason why the Canadiens gave up two good draft picks to bring in the former first-rounder.
