Miami Hurricanes Will Win MORE Than 7 Games This Season, Why Is The NCAA Challenging State NIL Laws?
The Miami Hurricanes football win total for 2023 has been set at 7.5 by the sports books. The Hurricanes have seemingly made key improvements to their personnel at problem areas like wide receiver and offensive line since 2022. They made several coaching changes including both coordinators. Host Alex Donno expects Miami’s offense to benefit from Shannon Dawson’s play calling and for the defense to be improved under Lance Guidry. Donno is joined by professional sports handicapper Lee Sterling to break down the team’s strengths, weaknesses, and improvements. Lee gives his verdict on how many games the Canes should be expected to win this year.
Donno brings on sports and entertainment lawyer Alan K. Fertel to break down the NCAA’s memo to each member institution. Despite 32 states now having NIL laws and several of those conflicting with NCAA rules, the NCAA has told schools that their rules must supersede their state laws. In four states in particular, there are massive conflicts that will lead to litigation. Alan explains why the NCAA has chosen to pick this fight, and what good can come out of it in the end.
