Why Inside Footwork in the Vols Offense – Glen Elarbee, OL Coach, University of Tennessee
As we have been doing on Mondays through this off-season, we share a segment of a clinic to share important points regardless of what position or side of the ball. We get insight into ideas that can work to help you improve your coaching and thought processes, and today is one that certainly fits that criteria.
This clinic segment is from the C.O.O.L. Clinic and Tennessee Offensive Line Coach Glen Elarbee. The Vols led the nation in offense and we all witnessed their explosiveness built behind an incredibly fast tempo and extremely wide receiver splits.
What I like about this segment is that in addition to sharing the way that they do it in the run game, what comes clear is the context within what they do and why this works for them. I believe their clarity on those things is what allows them to run one of the top offenses in the country year in and year out regardless of what school they have been at.
This entire talk shares the details of how they get it done using plenty of drill work and game film to illustrate.
I will share more of that in our Winning Edge takeaways at the end of this clinic segment. Here’s Coach Elarbee on “Why Inside Footwork in the Vols Offense.”
