Miami Hurricanes Land 4-Star Edge Marquise Lightfoot & 3-Star DB OJ Frederique, Recruiting Battles
The Miami Hurricanes have landed a verbal commitment from 4-Star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot. He chose Miami over Ohio State and USC. The Buckeyes were Miami’s top competition. Host Alex Donno explains what set Miami apart from OSU and how Canes defensive line coach Jason Taylor was instrumental in his recruitment. Over the Holiday weekend, Miami also landed a verbal commitment from St. Thomas Aquinas DB Romanas “OJ” Frederique, who flipped from West Virginia.
Donno recaps a weekend of ups and downs in recruiting. The Hurricanes lost out to Ohio State for 5-Star DT Justin Scott. They lost to Nebraska for 4-Star WR Jacory Barney. Donno details how many more battles Miami will have with Ohio State before the end of this cycle, and he explains what he feels went wrong in the recruitment of Barney, Scott, and 3-Star OL Moritz Schmoranzer, who chose Pittsburgh. Donno breaks down top Canes targets like JoJo Trader, Zaquan Patterson, Kamarion Franklin and Artavius Jones, who are all still in play.
