All-Ireland winners Paul Murphy (eventually) and James Skehill joined Will O'Callaghan to take live questions and comments from The Hurling Pod community following the All-Ireland semi-finals after Limerick and Kilkenny set up a repeat of last season's decider.
On this week's pod:
(0:00) - Paul Murphy gets stuck in traffic, so James Skehill gets a chance to talk interrupted about how good Eoin Murphy's wonder save was. 'The best save I've ever seen'.
(04:46) - Aaron Gillane is now the front-runner as hurler of the year, his incredible catch for the first goal. His positional sense is phenomenal. Galway were in such a strong position after half an hour. Retreating handed the initiative to Limerick. 'You can't try and take on Limerick at their own game'.
(15:43) - Did Quaid slowing the match down make that much of a difference really? 'It wasn't the losing of the game for Galway. Galway's body language went down when Limerick started throwing the punches. Shefflin on how Limerick dominated the middle of the field.
(33:46) - Fresh from his appearances on BBC, Virgin Media, and OTB across the weekend, four-time All-Star Paul Murphy joins the pod! 'I didn't even have the luxury to get changed'. Murph explains how he looked after Skehill on Saturday afternoon. Cian Lynch's involvement in the game and helping make Limerick tick.
(45:07) - Clare went away from what's been effective for them by deploying a sweeper in the first half against Kilkenny. It's unfair to claim that Clare only rise their game against Limerick. 'Clare have been brilliant this year'. Should the advantage have been played to allow Rodgers to hit the net? Inconsistency in refereeing decisions.
(58:00) - 'Get your pen ready Skehill, it's Mikey Butler watch time!'. Kilkenny All-Star again impresses on Tony Kelly. Who should Butler pick up in the final? Will Kilkenny use Huw Lawlor on Gillane? Eoin Cody in red-hot form. TJ Reid moves to the top of the All-Ireland scoring list.
(01:12:00) - Knowing when to go long and when to go short with puck outs. The work teams do ahead of big games on restarts. The swear jar is overflowing in the Skehill house.
(01:28:00) - TJ Reid could surpass Henry Shefflin as Kilkenny's greatest ever. 'He's the most talented player of my generation'. It's splitting hairs between TJ, Henry, and Shefflin. Will Lohan and Shefflin stay in their positions? Adrian Mullen's electric pink boots. Richie Hogan's cameo. Cillian Buckley's wedding on the eve of the final.
