Episode 152: Up from Homelessness with Mayor Dane White

At age 33, Mayor Dane White is the youngest mayor of Escondido ever elected. In this episode he tells his inspiring story of overcoming drug addiction and homelessness to become an innovative leader in our community.  He tells about his troubled youth, yet how hearing a powerful voice inside lifted him from the depths of despair. Now he has a passion and understanding of homelessness that few people in leadership have. Only a few months into his new term as mayor, he has done assessments of what is working in other communities, set up a special task force, and is seeking other pragmatic, common sense solutions.
