Fight Club: Basic Bs: The Basics of Boundary Setting
If you’ve been tuning in to our recent episodes then you know we’ve started a new series this month called Fight Club. The first two episodes titled Oh You Mad Parts 1 and 2, address three critical questions we have to ask ourselves if we are going to learn how to handle offense and conflict well. This whole series is centered around conflict resolution. It’s beyond our call to forgive, which don’t get me wrong, is important, but we’re learning how to be proactive, instead of reactive when it comes to one of our most important resources, and that’s relationships.
The third question that I posed last time, was this, when considered potential offense and patterns, have I expressed my expectations and set clear and enforceable boundaries?
In response to that, tonight I want to talk about three types of boundaries, with whom we should be setting boundaries, and what you can likely expect from others as you start to establish and implement your new boundaries.
