Here's 7 words to summarize the book of Titus:
- PASSION: Paul calls Titus my "spiritual child"
- ORDER: the church is a mess, leaders are a mess, teaching is a mess and followers are a mess.
- DYNAMITE: Paul charges Titus that the leaders are able to teach powerfully. They need to have strength in ability, in attachment, in action and in aim.
- ADORNing the gospel. Everybody is going to have to their lives in order because of the repetitional influence of our behaviors. We're not putting them out to pasture, but into position
- IDENTITY: you were a knucklehead. You got rescued. We got knuckleheads in the water. Be ready to rescue them.
- MISSION: be "sent out" of the church for the right reason: mission, not discipline.
- HOLY: find people who bear the marks of an exposure THERE so they can bear holiness HERE.
