Perfect Score by A.M. Ellis
She misses her old school, doesn't get to see her friends as much as she'd like anymore, and she and her mom STILL are at odds with what Jolene plans to do as a career. So, yeah, life really isn't great these days. The only thing that is going well are how many Cold Cases she and her friends have been able to solve.
Jolene has just picked a new case for her and her friends to try to solve, when she goes to take the elevated train back to her new, private school. But she sees her guidance counselor, Mr. Medina on the other side of train platform. She's surprised to see him, because he should be in school - just like she needs to be or she'll be late. So what is he doing there? She tries to get his attention, but then, before her horrified eyes, she sees someone push him onto the tracks in front of an oncoming train!
The death of Mr. Medina shocks Jolene. She had known him for years and was the reason she was at her new fancy school. But when the police rule it a tragic accident, Jolene can't believe it! After all, she saw him get pushed. However, every where she turns, people keep telling her to forget about it. What did Mr. Medina know and how can Jolene prove he was murdered?
The Perfect Score by A. M. Ellis is a great mystery read and it looks like there will be more.
