Sexuality Part 1

Is a same-sex couple in a loving monogamous relationship in line with God’s ideal and design? What does Jesus say about a same-sex relationship? Should I attend a same-sex marriage? How do I respond if my child comes out as gay? How does a Christian respond to the LGTBQ+ community? These are real questions that Christians are working through. As always, we must align our thinking, feelings, and actions with the authority of God’s Word.

This is the first part of a two-part series. In Part 1, we will build a framework for a Christian response and begin to survey Scripture regarding the issue of a same-sex relationship. In Part 2, we will continue to consider Scriptures in the Old and New Testaments that speak directly to the same-sex issue.

One thing before we start - this series is not simply a “one-off” in response to the Backyard Conversations series. In several sermon series, we have addressed sexuality and same-sex issues. Our commitment to preach through books of the Bible leads us often to sexual issues.
