Bikram Mishra talks about degree programs for incarcerated people
Bikram Mishra is a formerly incarcerated person who now works as a business instructor to the incarcerated at Adam’s State University in Alamosa. He shares his story and then talks about an innovative idea coming out of Colorado: People incarcerated in Colorado can now reduce their prison sentence by earning a college degree.
Bikram says: "We joke about jailhouse religion–in reality that’s all religion is. There's a connection between brokenness, and looking outside of yourself. If you open the Bible everyone has either gone to a desert or gone to a prison."
