In this episode I discuss a new approach that I am trying to take with life and the uncomfortable feelings that pop up which is to approach them with love. My therapist recently suggested a book called Whatever Arises Love That by Matt Kahn. The book is not recovery based but rather a spiritual approach to the world based in love. The way its described is if we can give love to the things inside of us that we don't like it will open us up to loving not only ourselves but the world around it. It will open up my heart that has been so closed off to love due the the trauma I experienced
as a kid that I have carried into my adult life. The timing and the contents of what I've read so far has really hit home, especially around the situations that are arising in my life and the uncomfortable feelings that comes with them. On this journey I believe it's all about learning to show all parts of myself love, not only the good parts that I know that I love but also the parts of me that I don't love. These parts, whether good or bad, are apart of me and need to be shown the love and attention like all the other parts. If I can learn to show love and attention to those uncomfortable feelings the more they come up the less power they will have over me, that's the hope at least. Thanks for joining me on this journey!
Keep coming back, it works if you work it, and you are worth it!
