192. Dr. Emily Jamea on Keeping Sex and Intimacy Alive After Children
We are thrilled to have Dr. Emily Jamea on the podcast today. She sits down with us to talk all things sex and intimacy! Emily is a sex therapist who is also the mom of two. She also has a book coming out next year and hosts her own podcast: Love & Libido. It was important for us to talk to someone about this topic who was a mom because we know Emily truly understands the ebbs and flows that come with intimacy in parenthood.
Sex is often the first thing that gets dropped by couples when life feels so full or gets super stressful. Dr. Emily coaches us on how we can make sex a priority if it has been put on the back burner. Or maybe sex feels like it’s too far gone? She walks us through how to even bring it up in conversation when it can feel too awkward.
There are a lot of things that can be mismatched between partners when it comes to sex; frequency, time of day, fantasies, etc. It can be hard to even get started when you are feeling so misaligned.
