RECAP: Miami Hurricanes Fall Camp DAY ONE, Jadais Richard Looks Great, Who Else Shined?
The Miami Hurricanes just wrapped up their first practice of fall camp in 2023. Host Alex Donno came away very impressed with transfer cornerback Jadais Richard from Vanterbilt. Richard had a pass breakup and then an interception near the end of the media viewing period. Donno also paid close attention to starting tight end Elijah Arroyo, who looks solid and fully recovered from his knee injury. All three quarterbacks had their ups and downs. Tyler Van Dyke appears to be the most accurate, while Jacurri Brown had arguably the best throw of the media period, threading a needle to Arroyo.
Donno breaks down his other takeaways from day one and reflects on what he learned from Miami’s coaches and players on media day. Donno recaps comments from receivers coach Kevin Beard about transfers Tyler Harrell and Shemar Kirk. Harrell can be even more dangerous if he learns to harness his speed. Kirk becomes a running back when he gets the football in his hands. Donno recaps some insightful comments from defensive tackle Ahmad Moten about Miami’s mindset heading into this season.
