About Ruth
I began my journey of learning meditation and mindfulness 21 years ago in Shaolin, China, where I studied Kung Fu and Chi Gong. I continued my training and wisdom-chasing since.
Years later, I became a trauma therapist, certified in EMDR (a leading trauma therapy for PTSD). These two skills exposed me to a deep understanding as I watched how the human mind is healed or resists healing.
My mindfulness practice and healing work in therapy synthesized into a process called Therapeutic Mindfulness: a Healing Skill, Not a Coping Skill. In teaching this to clients, I find they:
- are able to work through many emotions on their own at home
- become confident in their own ability to tolerate and heal feelings
- are comfortable quitting therapy at higher rates
