When Cleopas and his friend left Jerusalem to Emmaus they walked and talked about the things that had happened. Then Jesus drew near unto them and wound up walking and and talking with them. Cleopas friend was most likely his wife.
The Lord opened up the scriptures of the Psalms and of Moses revealing the prophecies of the Messiah that should come. When they arrived home Jesus made as though He was going onward, but "they constrained Him to come in." Jesus went in and revealed Himself to them in the breaking of the bread.
If Cleopas did not constrain Jesus to come in they would have missed that majestic opportunity to see their Messiah in their own home. Imagine if they waved goodbye to him and shut their doors.
Do you see what constraining Christ will do? Have you ever given any thought as to constraining Him now in your life? In your prayers? How constraining Christ constrains all that He is?
Become a constrainer of Christ just as Cleopas and his wife did and never let Him be only a guest or here-and-there Visitor. Constrain Him today and forever.
"To have Christ the Son, and the Spirit of the Son, dwelling within us and revealing the Father makes us true, spiritual worshippers." ~ Andrew Murray
