On this episode of They Walk Among America… It was the mid-afternoon of Wednesday, June 6th, 1962, in the Jamaica Estates North area of Queens. The street was cordoned off outside of one of the large ranch-style houses on Union Turnpike. The road had been torn up by heavy machinery, and construction workers were standing idly by. It would have been reasonable to assume that there were maintenance works underway if not for the heavy police presence. Crime scene investigators were reaching down into the sewer line that was flowing from the house and pulling out pieces of human flesh. The homeowner was nowhere to be found, but the police suspected that the victim was a teenage girl who had been brought to the residence for an illegal abortion…
