Trojans hire Jen Cohen as athletic director & previewing USC vs. San Jose State
In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and new USCFootball.com senior staff writer Connor Morrissette are in studio LIVE talking about the breaking news that the University of Southern California has hired Jennifer Cohen to be the school's 10th athletic director. Cohen comes from the University of Washington and she will be starting her role as USC's AD today.
The guys talk about this historic hire for USC (the first female athletic director in program history), what she brings to the table and how well they think Cohen will do running the Trojans athletic department.
On Tuesday morning the Trojans got some great news on the recruiting front when Julian Lewis, the No. 1 ranked prospect in the class of 2026, committed to USC. The guys talk about this huge pickup for Lincoln Riley and what it could mean for Trojan football recruiting down the road.
They also look ahead to this weekend when the Trojan football team takes the field for the first time, facing off against the San Jose State Spartans in the Coliseum on Saturday night. This week zero season opener for USC will be the debut of the Trojans new-look defense and a first look at the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams.
To help preview this game we welcome in publisher of InsideTheSpartans Jackson Moore to get a feel for what SJSU brings to the table and what USC fans can expect to see from the Spartans on Saturday in the Coliseum.
