10@9 Tribute to Cantor Philip Sherman, Celebrity Mohel - August 25, 2023

This morning we pay tribute to Cantor Philip Sherman who passed away recently, and who performed Brit Milah (ritual circumcision) for over 26,000 Jewish boys over his career. He blended Halachic and technical expertise, with a winning, ebullient personality. I had the pleasure of meeting and watching him at the Brit of both our our New York grandsons. Cantor Sherman, disciple of Avraham Avinu (our patriarch Abraham), rest in peace. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation. We take great pleasure in welcoming everyone with a warm smile, while sharing inspiration through prayer, study, and friendship.
