What would happen if we replaced some of the mechanical-sounding concepts of depth psychology with more storied, dramatic, and poetic terms? Would it transform our understanding of ourselves, each other, our unconscious (or Dreamvale, a realm of image in my Assembling Terrania Cycle of speculative fiction)? Can we describe the self with language that moves us closer to it than metaphors from the 19th century could do?
