In Marietta, legend has it that in the late 1800s, a son beheaded his adulterous father in front of his mistress at a riverfront hotel. The former La Belle Hotel where it is said to have happened is now nearly 200 years old, and modern-day tenants believe all three of their spirits are still repeating the crime.
