S6E166 Bass Fishing for Noobs - Big Baits with Matt Gibson

Tonight on the Noobs show we welcome back Matt Gibson to the podcast! Matt, an experienced kayak angler, has been on the Noobs show a few times and has given us a ton of great info on fishing the stupid tube, and dropped some great knowledge about fishing crankbaits! So, when he said he’d be happy to come back on, we knew we were in for another great episode, chock full of great info. Tonight, we pick Matt's brain on a technique that many anglers overlook, fishing big baits like big swimbait and glide baits.

After a quick reintroduction, Matt jumps in with how he got into throwing big baits and the scenarios he looks to through them now. Together, Matt and Sean cover Matts set up for throwing these baits, including rod, reel, and line choice. We take a look at how to fish this more visual presentation. One of the great things about this technique is that most times you can see the bait and therefore know what it takes some of the guesswork out of learning a new technique. Matt talks about retrieval methods for these baits and water conditions to look for as well.
