We've talked about this topic on a previous episode (OGHSE016) of the Oil and Gas Health, Safety and Environment Podcast, but every time there is a situation involving an active shooter there is a lot of advice about what you should do to keep yourself safe.
Mark and Patrick had the opportunity to sit down with Stephen Daniel, the Active Shooter Instructor at Houston Police Department and one of, if not the expert on the topic. Stephen has been asked to speak and lead training for police departments all over the country and the information this man has could save your life.
We walk through an active shooter scenario, from first identifying that you are in a situation with an active shooter, to getting yourself our of harm's way to what you need to do after the threat has passed and people need medical attention.
If you have half an hour, this information could be the difference between getting out of a dangerous situation and becoming a casualty. And remember that these types of situations can happen anywhere, at any time.
