A Work in Progress by Jarrett Lerner
Will's life gets changed, one day in fourth grade. It happened in the hallway at school, when a boy named Nick came up to him and called him fat. In front of everyone. Even though Will's friends came after him and told him that Nick was a jerk and an idiot, from that moment on, Will can't stop thinking about that word. And how even though he knew he was heavier than others, he didn't realize that was how everyone saw HIM.
So, now in 7th grade, it is how Will totally defines himself. He can't stop thinking that it is all anyone ever thinks about him. He is Will, that FAT kid. How can he change himself and make himself known for something other than that?
Recommended for grades 6 and up.
