This episode covers one question about Kate’s trajectory to becoming a psychologist and how and where one can get credentialed in the specific area of Sex Therapist.

She also answers a question from a woman who experienced sexual trauma much earlier in her life, and her question reveals that her husband “gifted” her a vibrator and the very complex reactions she has to this present. 

Dr. Kate gets into it and reminds us maybe his own need for getting his wife more interested in sex was actually dismissing the effects of making her feel less than, shamed and other undesirable emotions. Dr. Kate suggests ideas to bridge the gap of desire discrepancy and how “waning” libido can be for many reasons that need to be discovered together. She shares a reminder: Intentions and actual impact can be very different.

Dr. Kate also answers a question from another listener which has some of the same theme. He is sexually frustrated and wants to hear how he can have open communication about it.
