10@9 Choosing Between Two Models of Leadership - September 5, 2023

This morning I share a problem I struggle with, based on two models of leadership we find in our Torah portion (Netzavim-VaYeilech). We explore the analysis of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks on how effective leaders (which includes rabbis, lay leaders, business leaders, teachers, and especially parents) must have more than one style of leadership. The key is figuring out when to use which. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
