Two top human rights lawyers were this week arrested by Zimbabwean police while representing their clients who had been abducted and severely assaulted by suspected state security agents and arraigned before the court on charges of obstruction of justice. Lawyers, Doug Coltart and Tapiwa Muchineripi, had told police that their clients were medically unfit to be questioned. The opposition activists were badly beaten during their abduction in the capital, Harare, last Saturday by unidentified attackers. We spoke to one of the arrested lawyers Doug Coltart.
