Prison Fellowship is all for the Safer Supervision Act
There are over 110,000 people under federal supervised release at any given moment, but only a portion of them actually require federal supervision. The result is an overwhelmed and ineffective system that underserves those who need it and overburdens those who do not.
The Safer Supervision Act would ensure that the federal supervised release system effectively directs its resources to reduce recidivism and promote public safety, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Prison Fellowship sees how community supervision can equip returning citizens to successfully leave crime behind and live out their God-given potential.
Kate Trammell, Vice President of Advocacy at Prison Fellowship, talks about Prison Fellowship's support of the Safer Supervision Act and the Federal Prison Oversight Act.
