Three voices you need to hear from on September 11
Sarah Zylstra, senior writer at the Gospel Coalition, recalls stories from an extensive podcast series she produced about stories from 9/11. Sarah talked to dozens of survivors about how they got through the day, what they did next, and the surprising number of church plants that popped up in Manhattan after the tragedy.
For KJ Johnson (Director of the CS Lewis Institute, retired lt. colonel of the US Marine corp), 9/11 was the centerpiece of his career. He reflects with Brian on its impact on people who were serving in the military at the time, and how God later called him to ministry.
Then, Kelly Flanagan explains how when our fragility is primed by events (like 9/11), our values shift to one singular value: appreciating time with the people that we have. Kelly is a clinical psychologist, speaker, author of two non-fiction books--Loveable and True Companions--and a best-selling and award-winning novel, The Unhiding of Elijah Campbell.
