Tua Tagovailoa Needed Just One Game To Match Patrick Mahomes MVP Odds
Tua Tagovailoa was virtually invincible with over 450 passing yards and three touchdowns as the Miami Dolphins dropped a 36-34 statement win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Tagovailoa's featured two turnovers inside the five-yard line — it didn't matter. The former first-round pick connected to Tyreek Hill for two touchdowns against a Chargers defense that refused to double the first-team All-Pro receiver.
The Dolphins had issues defensively but answered the call late, sacking quarterback Justin Herbert twice on the game's final drive to secure the win. Vic Fangio's defense surrendered six yards per carry on the ground — was that by design or a reason to be concerned moving forward? That said, the defense saved the day after Jason Sanders missed an extra point to put the Dolphins up three points with less than two minutes remaining.
