This morning I share my brother's eloquent and emotional/spiritual response to a tragedy in his (and my) family last year. This is one intelligent person's response to overwhelming catastrophe, which hopefully can inspire others who face challenges, to rise to appreciate the High Holidays meaningfully. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
