This policy paper published by the Department of Health and Social Care (DoHSC) in August 2023 outlines a strategy to improve health and wellbeing in the UK by focussing NHS resources on 6 disease areas identified as causing 60% of all illness and death in the UK.
These areas are:
- Cancer
- Heart disease
- Musculoskeletal disorders
- Mental ill-health
- Dementia
- Respiratory diseases
