Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of it, causing pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and other symptoms. While the exact cause of endometriosis is not known, some studies suggest that psychosomatic factors may play a role in the development and severity of symptoms.
