What Did Two Toxic Relationships Teach Me About Myself? - With Aki Shigihara
This amazing lady, Aki Shigihara, moved to Australia on her own aged 20 knowing very little english.
Aki was born and raised in Japan. After moving to Australia, she took a nursing degree, which of course was in a foreign language to her. Not letting anything hold her back, Aki became a nurse in charge of one of the biggest hospitals in Melbourne.
By the age of 30 she had travelled to 36 different countries including trekking in Nepal for 21 days on her own.
So how did someone as confident as Aki manage to find herself in two toxic and abusive relationships, one after the other? Aki talks to me in this conversation about how and why she feels she lost her sense of self and confidence and how she found her way back.
