One of the last living witnesses to the fatal 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas was charged Friday with murder with use of a deadly weapon in the killing of the rapper, a long-awaited breakthrough in a case that has frustrated investigators and fascinated the public ever since the hip-hop icon was gunned down 27 years ago.

Retired Las Vegas Homicide Detective Phil Ramos was present for Tupac Shakur’s autopsy.
In his three-plus-decade career, Det. Ramos also worked undercover narcotics and infiltrated the Cuban mob.
He’s 3X Las Vegas Police Officer of the Year and a native Las Vegan.
