The Zen tradition is known for the mind-bending ways that are used to provoke the seeker to reach self-realization. Many stories are told about extraordinary meetings between a Master and disciple. Here, Vasant Swaha shares about when Chui (or Yoka), still as a seeker, was challenged by Master Huineng. This meeting led to Chui becoming a disciple and to his enlightenment. When sharing the story, Swaha is reminded of an event from his life, when met with an ancient friend, also an awakened being, named Giridhar.
Vasant Swaha is a modern mystic sharing his love, joy, and wisdom in retreats. This is an excerpt from a Satsang in Norway, during the “Songs of Silence” Retreat at Dharma Mountain, in Norway, on 20th of August 2023.
