Mistakes are a fact of life, but many of us can get trapped in the spiral of negative thinking that they invoke. Today's episode is a pep talk full of practical advice for moving on from mistakes, from brainstorming solutions in 'stupid idea time' to reframing your situation as an opportunity for growth.
Today, I speak about how damaging negative self-talk can be, including how it can impact situations disastrously and lead to avoiding problems rather than taking issues head-on. I also discuss, personally, how owning your mistakes can be difficult but necessary in moving forward. I also discuss how guilt can weigh you down and inhibit you from taking the steps you may need to take to feel better.
I speak about intentions, also discussing:
‘Stupid idea time’ (a journal exercise in which an issue you might not know how to resolve is just all scattered across a journal page without abandon)
How intention and guilt can affect your perception of mistakes
The importance of seeking advice from others, rather than taking on burdens by yourself
How taking responsibility is essential in moving forward
