India registered their first victory of the 2023 World Cup thanks to Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who produced a brilliant 165-run partnership to rescue the hosts from 2-3 in Chennai.
Kohli made 85, while Rahul finished unbeaten on 97*, winning the game with a six off Pat Cummins.
India's spinners starred earlier in the day, with Ravindra Jadeja picking up 3-28 from his 10 overs as Australia struggled their way to 199 all out.
