Ep 291: Why Your Brain Stops You From Taking Action And Creating A Better Life
In this enlightening episode, I discuss why our brains often sabotage us from taking action and making positive changes in our lives. We'll explore insights into the psychological barriers that hold us back and practical tips for breaking through these mental blocks.
While we may consciously want to improve our lives, our subconscious minds and ingrained habits resist change. This is due to the older, survival-based part of our brains.
To create change, we must operate in alignment with how our brains are wired - by transforming our subconscious beliefs.
Progress requires action. But action often involves discomfort, fear, and anxiety.
We must push through these feelings to get unstuck. Staying in our comfort zone leads to stagnation.
Decide on a new path, and don't worry about if the actions are messy. Perfect action often never happens.
We must trust ourselves to follow through, not just trust external advice. Focus on trusting your ability to course correct, not on the outcome. Do your due diligence, then take action. You can't over-learn everything.
What is holding you back from creating the life you want? Is it truly a lack of time, money, or skill - or is it the protective mechanisms of your own mind?
Transformational Takeaway:
Ponder the possibility that your subconscious beliefs and ingrained habits are resisting the very change you consciously seek - then ask yourself, what small action can you take today to push past your comfort zone and into progress?
