Interview with Duane Bryant

My name is Duane. People who know me call me sych and some people call me 1st…. I’m from Syracuse, New York, but I grew up in Miami . As a kid, I traveled a lot because of the sport i trained in and loved called boxing. I even received a full scholarship to North Michigan University. I was living in the Olympic Training Center, but I blew that by getting into trouble, and that was my fork in the road. I made the wrong choice, and within 9 months, I was in jail… TRICKED by the system. Once I went down that road, it led me to a 40-year prison sentence in New Jersey State l Prison, where I wasn’t supposed to be released until 2028. I got a complete reversal for racial profiling and was released on May 3rd, 2002. I did time in federal prison in New Jersey and was released 2012. Since then I’ve been a business owner a few times. I currently work for the City of Syracuse… My goal is to make a difference to our youth.. Because I want them to know that whatever choices you make, you better know As Much As You Can about it because “WE” don’t get breaks for what we don’t know!!! I lost 15 years of my life because I didn’t know!!!!
