Equilibrium (2002) review / dir. Kurt Wimmer

The gang steals a dog so they can pet it later this week, as they review the future dystopian gun-fu movie, Equilibrium (2002). Borrowing elements from many films before it, and lending even more to films that have come in the two decades since its release, Equilibrium tells the story of John Preston (Christian Bale), a cleric in charge of hinting and destroying sense offenders in a Orwellian fascist state. When he stops taking his sense inhibitors, his eyes become opened to the reality of the world that has made him and every thing he (is not allowed to) love.
