Exploring the Creation of CBC's Black Life: Untold Stories
Black Life: Untold Stories is an eight-part documentary series that reframes the rich and complex histories of Black experiences in Canada produced and created by the CBC - with the debut of the series on both CBC Gem and on television, Donnovan brings on Leslie Norville, showrunner and executive producer, alongside Shad Kabango and The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, both consulting producers. What went into the decision making process for each of the eight parts? How do you decide where to begin with such a topic? Afterwards, Donnovan chats with Will Prosper, director of the series' third episode 'Northern Beats' and Canadian hip-hop pioneer Michie Mee, as the trio discuss the relationship between hip hop and sports in Canadian culture.
