1. Fear and failure is going to happen, but never any worse than we are living in our mind, now
- Living in the fear of failure and embarrassment is more detrimental than facing these emotions head-on. Embracing discomfort and taking action, even in the face of potential embarrassment, can lead to significant personal growth and achievement.
2. The "Fear-to-Action" Framework:
- The "Fear-to-Action" framework introduced by Ellen provides a practical guide for conquering fear. It offers step-by-step strategies and exercises to help individuals move past their fear of failure and embarrassment, making it easier to take action towards their goals.
3. Perception of Failure and External Judgment:
- Ellen challenges the misconception that people will harshly judge those who make mistakes or face failures. She highlights that the only time that these judgements hurt truly, are when we believe them. When we haven't defined, or decided who we are and what our values are - is the only time we will indulge in negative thoughts about us. It's also a great time for us to recognize where we get to develop self-compassion for ourselves. Especially when we are doing something for the first time. This shift in perspective can empower individuals to overcome external judgments and pursue their aspirations with confidence. And know that, when they feel like words hurt them, it's not the words that hurt - it's them believing the words that were said, deep down. Bringing to light where we get to determine who we really are. This allows us to internally validate ourselves.
