Ep#29: Ben Brochu: Modern Day Mountain Men

Ben Brochu ( @hinterland_outdoors ) came on the pod and floored me with stories from his life trapping, hunting, fishing, sailing, hiking, and paddling through some of the most remote places there is in the world and in our province. Ben is a guide and an outdoorsman with more experience than one episode can handle. We talked about his upbringing trapping, sailing the oceans with his kids, exploring uncharted locations with a packraft, and facing fear, uncertainty, and death head-on. He shares one of his most memorable moments from his youth in -50° weather, making 1 match count while out trapping, to stay alive with a lurking wolverine. I consider Ben to be a modern-day mountain man in which exploration is his main goal, and foraging & hunting follow to provide sustenance. I can't wait to have Ben back on the podcast.
